Vung Tau #3 it is....

A bit of news, did just get confirmation that my child will come from Vung Tau #3....so that makes me feel it is all a bit more real!!..

Some not so good news!!....

Well after promising myself I wouldn't get in touch with the agency, and let them contact me instead, I did write to them yesterday and it seems just as travel dates have slowed down so have the referrals.....so I may not get my referral by the end of the month, and on top of that, I may not get a referral soon as they cannot tell me how many children are from the orphanage I have been assigned to ....I am starting to experience that roller coaster of emotions that other parents speak of, and will need to revise my planning in my head anyhow, as soon as my emotions settle down......so as others have said, a bit of news but no news either.....

Vietnamese Language...and gifts...and decisions....

Well did get some information about language classes...for adults it seems one on one language training is available. I'll be meeting with Kim in a couple of weeks to discuss this further.....so will see if this is something I will do now, even some elementary words would be helpful in the transition of my baby from one language to another....other than this, no other news to report....I go between being very calm about it to being frustrated...to shopping for baby things...last night bought a couple of fitted crib sheets, a bath towel and a couple of sleepers...the theme for the baby's room is a sort of animal theme, it started with the very first stuffed animal I bought when I started this journey almost 3.5 years ago...a little giraffe!!... Also wanted to mention got a lovely gift this week from Marsha, a beautiful two tiered dragon fly wind chime just like the one I admired at Samantha's ...so it was perfect for the one spot above the door that needed something and this is perfect...hope to be able to upload some photos soon.....also I think I've made a decision on the car seat, thanks to Valerie's info...though have not purchased it yet...will wait on that....and still not sure as to the kind of stroller though do want one that is very easy to function and carry up and down stairs, and then there's some compostable diapers thanks to Marie-Claude....these decisions, of course in addition to teaching, preping and marking keep me busy and for the most part distracted and of course not to mention the olympic games do that too......so for now as Bev notes in the title of her blog, I too wish, wonder, and wait.....

Community Tết Celebrations and some decorations in my home.......

Just spent the last few hours at the Bronson centre with Vanh and Max and their parents of course, enjoying the activity and energy of a Vietnamese New Year. We bumped into many adoptive parents, both those with children as well as those waiting, and including the director of my agency and her family. The weather was beautiful, lots of sunshine and so nice to be hopeful even though the waiting is AWFUL!!!...Will post a few photos of some of the decorations I picked up in the last couple of days in Chinatown.....
