Thinking of traveling earlier???
Ever since I connected with the other parent who is travelling at the end of the month, I have been rethinking the possibility of going much sooner than later??? especially if it means being able to bond with Matteo sooner too! So today I finally put this question to my agency to see what they think, as I'd like to do it with their blessing!!.....and of course I would then have to rethink a few things here and then really see if I can swing it!!...anyhow at this point it is still part of a dream, and will know in the next few days what advice I get from the agency and then try to make a decision, if there is a decision to make.....so will keep you all posted!!

How many weeks were there between that person's referral and yours? How long did she wait from refferral tho medical and then to travel invitation?

Hi B. Her referral was 2 days before mine and has seen the medical but no invitation to travel...she's travelling, much like C. decided....but our agency has said okay....I did get a partial answer yesterday...as in, I might be able to travel but needs to be discussed.....today in the light of day I am thinking it is probably not going to work for me to travel earlier...maybe a week or two, but I think I'd like to wait for the dossier and an invitation to travel...only because I don't think I can deal with the uncertainty while in Vietnam....anyhow have moments where I go back and forth...would love to have Matteo earlier even if not officially and then think that it won't work out.......
ReplyDeleteI completely understand the desire to hold Matteo as early as possible. Yet, given the magnitute of what the Agency and Vietnamese officials are trying to do over the next few months, I'm afraid folks travelling early may divide the focus of our staff and possibly aggrevate the situation in general. But what do I know?
ReplyDeleteI've only heard of people travelling early and being delayed...has anyone been known to travel early and remain on the expected timeline?
Hi Sharon, Thanks for your thoughts...I do agree with you, I would not think of going without have the agency's blessing....so if they say it isn't a good idea, I'll go with that...if they say it would work, then I have some thinking to do....and organizing to see if it is possible...however yes, if it means bonding with Matteo sooner than yes, that is the only reason I am even considering it....but as I said in my earlier message....not sure how prepared I'd be for the uncertainty once and if I go!!....like I said, if the agency says "yes" then I will consider this very seriously....but if they say "no" and that it would cause difficulty, I will go back to the original plan...
